The PMD is a classic dry fly fished on long leaders with accurate casts. When fishing the small flies you may use a larger attractor fly and when it moves tighten up and you will have our foxed the fussy trout who you would not of by fishing a larger fly. Many fly fishermen say use a slightly larger fly then whats hatching. Its been my years of experience that on heavy fished waters do the opposite and fish a smaller fly.
