Imagine, a modern built Kane Klassic fly rod with an 1890’s style cane handle.
When contemplating a bamboo fly rod restoration of a family antique, we would like to assure you of our experience with carefully handling and successfully restoring these relics. Wether it be simple guide wraps or detailed restoration of any of the traditional brand name fly rods, Kane Klassics would love to bring back your rods functionality and protect its future.
In 1991 owner, Douglas Kulick, restored the Granger bamboo fly rods that were used in the production and filming of the classic American film, “A River Runs Through It”.
Kane Klassics has a complete supply of era specific silks for virtually all maker’s rods. If ferrules or reel seat replacement is needed, we have the metal in bar stock and a jeweler’s lathe to reconstruct any part of the fly rod in repair. Our modern polymer coating finish gives it all the original beauty of the old spar varnish with generations worth of protection.
All restored rods are matched to their correct line size prior to delivery. We are happy to help with any questions concerning modern line size on your restored rods.
Listed below are examples of manufacturers whose rods are now of considerable value.
This is not to say that your father’s or grandad’s rod, not of a maker below, is any less valuable. In my opinion, personal nostalgia is just as or more valuable and will receive equal attention in restoration!
